Jiu-jitsu, coached individually
Classes for kids, teens, adults, and families in Hendersonville.
Who We Are
A small jiu-jitsu academy where the coach actually knows your game.
Profectus is a black-belt-led academy in Hendersonville — not a franchise, not a big-box gym. There are no instructor rotations and no membership tiers. Just two head coaches who know every student by name, and who build an individual game for each one.
For kids, that means classes that develop confidence, focus, and discipline — taught by coaches who pay attention to how your child is progressing, not just the group.
For adults, that means jiu-jitsu built around your body, your schedule, and your goals. Whether you're here to compete, get in shape, or just learn something new, your coach knows where you are and what you're working on.
For competitors, that means individualized film study, slowed-down breakdown videos of the techniques you're refining, and check-ins before and after every class. It's the level of attention competitive athletes pay for — and at Profectus, every student gets it.
Head Coach Travis Shrum is a BJJ black belt under Jeremy Akin and an IBJJF Masters World Champion. Before opening Profectus, Travis served as a United States Marine and as a Hendersonville Police Officer — graduating #1 in his police academy class. Over 35 years of combined experience across martial arts, military, and law enforcement come onto the mat with him every day.
Coach Logan Nash is a black belt with 15 years on the mat and 10 years of coaching experience. Both coaches verifiable. Both still training. Both invested in your progress.
That's how a four-year-old academy from Hendersonville has produced two IBJJF Pan-American Champions in Jacob Cipolla and Nathan Cozzitorto — both developed here, both coached individually, both proof that the right coaching turns regular people into champions.
If that's the kind of gym you've been looking for, come see for yourself.
